Big Closing Day

It’s been dumping all day on Vail Mountain. By early afternoon the snow had gotten fairly deep in the back bowls. With snow in the forecast tonight and tomorrow, it looks like we’re in for an incredible closing day.

A powder day is great way to end our incredible season!

More Snow

Another nine inches reported on Vail Mountain this morning. Some of that fell yesterday morning but it doesn’t take much to make it a powder day. The warm, spring snow has been a little set up which keeps you on top of it a bit more. It makes for some surfy fun skiing. If the sun breaks, it will get heavy quickly and be more difficult to ski so get up early. If we do get some sun this afternoon, head to one of the decks on the mountain and enjoy spring.

Spring Back to Vail continues this weekend with more fun and concerts.

Here’s some great powder footage from the Vail backcountry posted on Vimeo earlier this season.

Weather has moved in and the snow is picking up. We got a couple inches over night but it should keep coming. We’re under a Winter Weather Advisory today.

Spring Back To Vail Starts on Friday....

500?

With only two weeks to go until our season ends, Vail has reported 477” inches of snow. Will we get to 500”?  It’s been a great year with lots of powder days. Making that 500 mark would make this season just a little more special. The forecast looks promising. Although we all welcome the sunshine and spring skiing, there will be no complaining if we end this thing with a few more powder days and make it to 500.

It’s a Powder Day!

Ten inches of new snow reported and it’s still dumping.

We’ve been getting a few inches each day but the conditions haven’t been great everywhere. You’ve had to pick you’re runs with some care to get softer snow. This may all change with snow in the forecast for the next seven days. If we get one big dump out of this, then it won’t matter where you ski, everything will be great. Especially if this cycle of a few inches each day continues.
